Visual Jobstream receives prestigious euro accreditation

Visual Jobstream has been accredited for the way in which it handles processing of European Monetary Union (EMU) currency exchanges – the first Trust Accounting package to receive this prestigious award.

The accreditation was undertaken on behalf of the Business and Accounting Software Developers Association (BASDA), the London-based international standards organisation, by Ernst & Young, The Netherlands. The multi-currency aspects of the accreditation have long been part of Jobstream’s architecture. With support for 6 decimal places in exchange rates introduced in 1998, there was little that needed changing for simple conversions. Triangulation - the mechanism specified by the EU for converting amounts between two member currencies – was added in all aspects of Visual Jobstream’s accounting in time for the start of the first euro transition period on 1 January 1999. More recent enhancements to Jobstream, such as the cash receipt wizard, are also covered by this accreditation.

Jobstream Group was presented with the Accreditation Certificate at BASDA’s annual meeting in London in March 2000, a meeting also addressed by Patricia Hewitt, Britain’s government minister for e-commerce.
